Acne. A Distressing condition with a natural solution

Acne. It's natural and it is distressing. However, there appears to be a safe and natural treatment that just might help sufferers from Acne.

Antiac, is a natural, peroxide and paraben-free product for treating acne, and it was rated best acne product in an independent volunteer-led trial on Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies: Live from the Clinic programme. Programme producers chose Antiac to compare with four other non-prescription acne products to be trialled for one week by five acne sufferers. Salcura Antiac “stopped shine and got deep down into the pores to banish blemishes.”

The results of the trial were broadcast in Embarrassing Bodies: Live from the Clinic on Channel 4 on June 1st which can be viewed online via Channel 4’s 4oD at

Antiac – What Is It?
It's made from only natural ingredients, Antiac is an effective, but gentle, alternative to harsh chemical-based alternatives that contain hydrogen peroxide, benzoyl peroxide, antibiotics, retinoids and/or salicylic acid.

How does it work? Antiac treats acne in three ways: It has a cleansing action disinfecting and reducing inflammation, so treating both cause and effect of the condition at the same time.

Ingredients like Sea Buckthorn and Aloe treat inflammation and promote skin healing. Tea-tree, Sandalwood, Manuka and Nerolina oils combat the bacteria which causes the acne in the first place, and all have proven anti-fungal and anti-septic actions.

Antiac’s all natural formula is ideal for acne sufferers who have sensitive skin, and is also suitable for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

The Antiac product is in a liquid form, in a pump-action spray. A spray has several advantages over ointments or cream: It lasts longer as less of it is used each time, and is distributed as very fine particles, so allowing deeper and faster penetration of the skin. And this is obviously important as it boosts absorption into the skin’s deeper layers.

FACTFILE:
Acne is the most common type of skin condition, with some around 80% of 11 to 30-year-olds affected.

Most acne cases in girls occur between the ages of 14 to 17, and in boys the condition is most common in 16 to 19 year-olds. People’s symptoms normally go away in their twenties, but in some cases it continues into adult life, with some 5% of women and 1% of men over 25 continuing to experience symptoms.

The five other acne treatment brands trialled in the programme include Clearasil, Simple, Aknicare and No! No!

Where can you get Salcura Products? All Salcura products, including Antiac are available at www.salcuraskincare.com. Or you can pop into Boots and a number of other chemists.
Selected Salcura products are available at Boots stores and online, as well as in selected pharmacies across the UK.

Why was Salcura developed? In the 1990s German bio-scientist, Dr Martin Schiele, was looking for a treatment for the skin conditions caused to factory workers who were handling chemicals.

It worked, much to their delight. But it was noticed that Schiele’s combination of natural ingredients was also proving very efficient at dealing with other skin conditions.

So after ten years of research and refining of the formula, the Salcura brand was born. It now has a wide range of products for skin condition like acne, but also eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis, offering relief for those wanting an effective, natural alternative to chemical-based products.
